Substitute Teachers

West Carrollton Schools recognizes that the best instruction occurs in the classroom when the regular teacher is present. However, when absences are necessary, West Carrollton Schools seeks to provide a qualified substitute teacher for the class. Thank you for your interest in working in our district. Who Can Be A Substitute Teacher?
To be eligible to substitute teach in any of the West Carrollton school buildings, you must hold a valid Ohio Teaching License or Substitute License.  Substitutes must submit proper documentation, pass a background check, and have a negative drug test result through U.S. Health Works.


How to Apply:
Substitute applications are made through the Human Resources Department at the Administrative Office. When applying, bring the following items:

Social Security Card 
Driver's License 
Official college transcript 
Teaching license or certificate 
Fingerprint report less than one year old, if applicable
Resume 
Voided check for direct deposit purposes

The Human Resources Department can fingerprint applicants at no charge. Your identification will be copied while you wait.

Salary Information:

Substitutes are hired on a school year basis and are called by individual school buildings on as needed. The daily rate for substitute teachers is $90.

In the case of long-term assignments, the rate of pay will be calculated by the Human Resources Director based on the teachers salary schedule approved by the Board of Education.

PLEASE NOTE
:

Substitutes who are on the active list at the end of the school year will receive information via U.S. mail by June 30 regarding reasonable assurance of employment as a substitute teacher for the following school year.
