You're Invited to the Third Annual Chili Cook Off!
The West Carrollton School district will be hosting the third annual Chili Cook Off on Friday, February 9, at the High School from 5 to 7 p.m. Firefighters from the communities we serve in Miami Township, Moraine and West Carrollton will be putting on their chef's hats and pulling out their best firehouse chili recipe to compete for your votes. Chili, tortilla chips, hot dogs, soda and desserts will be available. The firefighters from West Carrollton have won the first two Chili Cook Offs, and they are hoping to continue the trend, but Miami Township and Moraine have promised to bring the heat (but not in the chili) and start a new tradition.

Thanks to sponsors, the food and fun are free, but donations will be accepted with 100% of the proceeds going to Pirate Packs. Pirate Packs is a local organization that provides food to West Carrollton School District at-risk students for the weekend. Additional information about Pirate Packs can be found at piratepacks.org or from an organization representative at the Chili Cook Off. Anyone attending is encouraged to participate in the Community Peanut Butter Challenge and bring a jar of peanut butter for the Pirate Packs food barrel.

The Chili Cook Off is followed by the Pirate boys’ basketball game against the Fairborn Skyhawks in the High School gym beginning at 7 p.m. The fun continues during half-time with a parade of the West Carrollton elementary basketball teams. Firefighters dressed in full gear will compete in a free-throw shootout and the coveted Chili Cook Off trophy will be awarded.
