West Carrollton Schools will
be starting a Pirate PALS (Parents Assisting for Learning Success) using the
WATCH D.O.G.S. ® (Dads Of Great Students) model at Harry Russell Elementary.
The program will have a kickoff Pizza Night for family and friends of the
school on Tuesday, Sep. 25, 2018 from 6 to 7 pm.
WATCH D.O.G.S.® is an
innovative program being used by schools across America. The program encourages
adults to have a positive impact on student’s lives by showing commitment to
the school. The goal would be to have an adult volunteer at least one day
during the school year to be a positive role model. Time may be spent assisting
in a classroom, playing at recess, eating lunch with students, watching school
entrances and hallways and assisting with traffic flow.
Harry Russell will be the
pilot for the PALS/WATCH D.O.G.S.® program. Plans are to extend the program to
the Middle School at a later date.
Parents, grandparents,
aunts, uncles and positive community adult role models interested in
becoming PALS of Harry Russell
Elementary should attend the program. RSVP to Molly Shoenleben by Sep. 18 by
e-mail at [email protected] or phone at 937-859-5121, ext. 5516.
