Pirate Wrestler Going to State Meet

Tyrone Keeton became the first PIRATE wrestler to qualify for the state meet since 1999. He is excited to be heading off to Ohio State University where his first competition will be March 7. Tyrone is a Junior, and he and the wrestling team led a parade through the halls of the High School to celebrate his achievement.

Wrestling runs in the family! Tyrone’s father also competed at the state level when he was in High School. Tyrone also participates in baseball, but wrestling is his favorite sport.

Coach Michael Treon is accompanying Tyrone to the meet, and couldn’t be prouder of his athlete. He stated, “Guys were jumping up and down at the districts when he qualified.” This is the first year Coach Treon has been the Head Coach for the team. He has previously served as Assistant Coach. He also went to state when he was in High School and has been giving his wrestler advice on what to expect.

Good luck Tyrone! Go Pirates! #WCpiratepride
