Same Faces - New Places!
Craig Myers will be transitioning into the role of Curriculum Director from High School Principal. “This is an opportunity to work with staff and students across the entire district,” commented Myers. He will be overseeing the continued use of I-Ready which evaluates academic progress throughout the year. He will also be working with teachers as the new reading series, Journeys, is introduced this school year.

Taking the place of Myers at the High School will be Candice Haffner. She has been an Assistant Principal at the High School and is already familiar with the students and staff. Haffner looks forward to her new role as Principal and continuing to work with High School students and families.

Brad Thobe, Assistant Principal at the High School, will be moving to Harry Russell Elementary as Principal. This will be his sixth year in the school district with five previous years of experience in West Carrollton as the High School Assistant Principal. Thobe looks forward to meeting students and parents and working with the staff when the school year begins.

Moving into the Assistant Principal roles at the High School will be Dorian Glover and Jason Izor. Glover has been the Principal at Frank Nicholas Elementary, but came to the district with previous experience at the High School level. He is looking forward to the move to the High School and working with students and staff as well as reconnecting with students he first met at Frank Nicholas. Izor has been a teacher at the High School as well as serving as an Interim Principal and Summer School Principal.

Pamela Dudley will be moving as Principal of Harry Russell Elementary to Frank Nicholas Elementary. This is a return to her beginning at West Carrollton Schools. She was initially employed as the Principal at Nicholas and is looking forward to reconnecting with Nicholas families and staff.

Janet Schieman, Principal at C. F. Holliday, will be moving to Walter Shade Early Childhood Center. This move has been planned for several months. Schieman has already had the opportunity to work with the Shade staff as she prepares for the transition, and is looking forward to welcoming preschool and kindergarten families.

Roy Swanson will be the new Principal at C. F. Holliday. Although new to West Carrollton, he will be bringing experience as an elementary Principal. Swanson has already met the staff and looks forward to meeting C. F. Holliday families.

Evan Ivory will be the new Athletic Director at the High School. He looks forward to meeting coaches and student athletes and reenergizing the Pirate teams.

“Some of the changes were already planned, but an opening in curriculum gave us the opportunity to restructure school leadership using the strengths of our current staff,” commented Dr. Andrea Townsend.  “Our entire leadership team is excited about the changes and look forward to the new school year.”
