Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees
 

Congratulations to the 2019 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees, Annie (Messer) Mixon and Wayne Novick.

Annie (Messer) Mixon was a three-sport athlete in High School, and captain of the basketball, track and soccer teams during her senior year. In basketball, she lead the team in assists during her junior year and lead the team in points and assists during her senior year. Her track career was highlighted by earning the school record for 100m Hurdles (16:58) in her junior year. Among her many honors in soccer, she earned the school and state record for career goals. Her soccer skills earned her a scholarship to Kent State. She went on to play professional soccer with the Cleveland Internationals and Dayton Dutch Lions. Mixon was a nominee for Miami Valley Sports Woman of the Year.

Wayne Novick was a soccer coach with an overall record of 145-123-28. His teams earned 4 first place finishes in GMVC, 2 second place finishes in WOL and 2 second place finishes in GMVC. Four of his former players, Mary Beth Lengefeld, Lori Rearick, Karla Nunn and Angie Sparks have previously been inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Coach Novick led The PIRATES to the state runner up title in 1989!
