Bus Drivers Needed

The West Carrollton School District is seeking bus drivers to fill substitute and regular route positions. Training is provided to assist in securing a CDL license.

A bus driver shortage has affected schools across the country, even prior to COVID. West Carrollton has managed to keep buses on the road, but foresees that the shortage of drivers could begin to affect transportation of students.

“Bus drivers are an important part of a student’s day,” said Janine Corbett, Public Relations for the school district. “Our drivers make sure students arrive safely at school and back at home on time.”

Paid training for potential drivers is provided at $14 per hour and the cost of the CDL test and license is reimbursed. The pay for subs and the starting pay for drivers is $19.38 per hour. Anyone interested should contact Belinda Cox, Transportation Supervisor, at [email protected] or 937-859-5121, ext. 8959.
