Aviation Maintenance Students Sign to Join PSA Maintenance Student Pathway Program!
In 2019, PSA Airlines recognized the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Aviation Maintenance Technician program as a Tier 1 Partner School in their Maintenance Student Pathway (MSP) Program. This industry-leading program provided a valuable path for interested students to transition from the classroom to the aviation maintenance hangars at PSA.
Fast forward to 2022, and two current seniors, Nolan Batterton (West Carrollton) and Grady Lamb (Brookville) have signed on with PSA to take advantage of this great opportunity.

ording to PSA, “As an A&P Mechanic at PSA, you’ll be part of a close-knit, passionate team that places safety and compliance above all else. By becoming a Mechanic through the Maintenance Student Pathway Program, you receive a $2,500 sign-on bonus, a guaranteed interview with a base manager, priority base and training class selection, industry-leading, progressive training programs, and career advancement opportunities.”
The students learned about the Maintenance Student Pathway Program after PSA representatives visited MVCTC last school year. The application process took a few months, and it was the first actual interview for both young men.
“We start with PSA right after we pass our A&P Certifications. I plan to work for PSA and continue to gain experience. I always liked working with my hands, and I came in here [Aviation Maintenance Technician Lab] during Sophomore Career Day and thought it was really cool, and I would try it out. I have really enjoyed it so far,” said Grady.
Nolan shared, “The PSA program was interesting because it was a really good opportunity to have a job already set up when we leave high school. I plan to go to work at PSA and stay there to gain experience. I wanted to be a pilot at first. I went up to fly and did not really like it that much, but I decided to stick with the hands-on work and to fix planes instead of flying them. I like working hands-on. I like MVCTC and the program a lot. It is fun and a great opportunity.”
From now on, PSA will call either the student or their MVCTC Instructor, Ryan Bruss, twice a month and check in on grades, progress, attendance, behavior, etc.
Once Grady and Nolan graduate, if everything goes well, they will receive a job offer, another $2500, and a job that starts at over $25 an hour. In addition, if they decide to take a job with PSA more than 70 miles from where they live, PSA will give them an additional $5000 for moving expenses.
Mr. Bruss stated, “we are one of a very few schools that had students accepted into this PSA Program!”
