July 7, 2022

WEST CARROLLTON SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS RELEASE

West Carrollton School District officials were advised today that the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) has approved the state funding that allows the school district to enter into Phase 2 of construction of new schools throughout the district. Phase 2 will be the construction of a new building to house students in grades 2 through 4 and a campus that will house students in grades 7 through 12.

The West Carrollton project was approved by the OFCC along with four other school districts. The state share of the West Carrollton project is $124,285,706. The community share is $29,153,437. The total project is $153,439,143.

The West Carrollton community passed a Building Bond Issue in November, 2019 to build four new schools. Phase I which is currently being completed was construction of a new early childhood center to house students in preschool through grade 1 and an intermediate school to house students in grades 5 and 6. Both of those buildings will be open for the first day of school on August 24.

District officials anticipate the Phase 2 timeline to be about three years from planning to completion. “I am beyond excited for our students, staff and the entire community,” said school Superintendent, Dr. Andrea Townsend. “I am appreciative of the community members who helped make this possible.”
