During the month of March, our middle school guidance counselors visit 6th and 7th grade classrooms to meet with students about their scheduling options for the following year. Every student receives a Program of Studies as well as a course request sign-up sheet. Families can use the Program of Studies to help their student make choices about what classes to take the following year. Sign-up sheets need to be signed and returned to the school in a timely fashion so the Middle School master schedule can be built.
Students in the 8th grade will have an opportunity to meet with West Carrollton High School guidance counselors in March also. Eighth graders will also receive the Curriculum Choices Booklet and sign-up sheet, which will be used to determine their schedules once they enter the high school. Questions regarding high school courses and sign-ups should be directed to the high school guidance department.
Incoming 6th grade students will receive their sign-up sheet in the spring through their music teacher, who will discuss with students their music options at the Middle School. Again, these sign-up sheets need to be signed and returned to their elementary school in a timely fashion. However, if parents have questions regarding classes that are offered at the Middle School, they are encouraged to contact the middle school guidance department.
