The Marching Band and Color Guard perform at football games and march in parades. They march every year in the Kettering Holiday at Home Parade on Labor Day, and they bring the Pirate Pride to the West Carrollton Homecoming Parade. Preparing for performances begins with a lot of practice, and it starts during the summer.
The group is led by band director Laura Bukosky, and supported by Band Boosters, including families and volunteers who help with band camps, snacks, uniform fittings, applause, and anything else the group may need.
Practicing continues as the group prepares for competitions. A recent competition was the Springboro Invitational, which was held on October 4. The Marching Band and Color Guard marched their way to a Class AA first-place finish, earning five trophies!
