10-14-25 - IMMEDIATE RELEASE
This afternoon, a teacher at the elementary school discovered that a student had brought a gun to school. The teacher immediately separated the student from the weapon and isolated the remaining students in the class. All students were kept safe. Law enforcement was contacted and responded to the school to investigate.
This is now an active investigation, and school authorities will fully cooperate with law enforcement; however, as this is an ongoing investigation, school authorities will not have further comment regarding this matter.
We want to commend our teacher and staff members who quickly responded to keep students safe. Safety begins at home. Weapons should always be appropriately locked away in the house. This would include the child’s home and any home a child may visit.
