Boy in black cap and gown with an honors scarf

Andy Dozal, Class of 2022, recently graduated from Wittenberg University. He is an example of how hard work, combined with a strong support system like the College Promise program and educators' dedication to students at West Carrollton, can lead to extraordinary achievements.

Superintendent Dr. Andrea Townsend is especially proud of Andy, having served as his mentor in high school. Along with encouragement, she ensured he met all the requirements to receive his scholarship and worked with him in any subject where he needed help. She stated, "I'm proud of all of our students, and especially proud of Andy since he was my mentee."

Andy was a member of the National Honor Society, one of three students who received a Dayton-Montgomery County College Promise Scholarship, and one of 30 students who received an Honors Diploma in 2022. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the recipient of the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award.

Scholarships he received gave him a full ride to Wittenberg University, where he continued to excel.

Dr. Townsend has stayed in contact with Andy during his time at Wittenberg and continued to provide encouragement and advice. "He is an example of what our Pirates can achieve. I know he will succeed in whatever he does."
