An elf was seen at Schnell this morning! Apparently he got tangled in some lights. We are still searching for the school principal. Where is Mr. Thobe?

Shhhhh. Students at Schnell are doing IReady testing. Test results provide teachers with data to measure each student's academic progress. Results also assist teachers in determining if a student or group of students needs assistance in a specific subject.

You may not see windows now, but they are on site and will soon be installed at the new West Carrollton Elementary. Workers are taking advantage of the weather as they work on the exterior of the building. The building will be open in less than a year and will welcome second through fourth graders for the 2025-26 school year!

Thank you to the West Carrollton Fire Department for making this a special day for Harper and Mia from Schnell and Colton and Miriam from Russell!

It's a special morning for these kids from Schnell! They are having breakfast with West Carrollton firefighters! We will have more pictures later from this special event.

It's Fire Prevention Week! Our friends from the West Carrollton Fire Department stopped by Harold Schnell this morning. Following a fire drill, the firefighters spoke about fire safety and the importance of having a home exit plan as well as an alternate exit plan in the event of a fire. The exit plan should include a n outside meeting place.

It's Mustache Day at Schnell! It's one of the fun spirit day activities happening this week as we get closer to Homecoming. The theme this year is A Night in Paris.

Pop can tabs + counting = a fun way to learn for Harold Schnell students! Second graders will be collecting pop tabs and using them to learn about numbers up to 1,000. If you have any tabs, they may be donated at the school through Nov. 22. After using them as a learning tool, the tabs will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House charity.

It's a perfect day to celebrate being a Pirate! It's International Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Tonight's game was amazing having our Pee-wee teams and their parents. I'd like to thank everyone who came out to support our kiddos!
Dr. Townsend

It's QPT Day! Students may not be in school, but the staff is here! They are collaborating and sharing ideas to become better educators and support staff.

There is NO SCHOOL Friday, September 13 for QPT Day. Enjoy a safe, respectful and responsible weekend!

There is no school on Monday, September 2 for Labor Day. Enjoy a safe, respectful and responsible weekend!

We now know that the Miamisburg Schools emergency alert call system reaches out to student emergency contacts, some of whom are from West Carrollton. The message that was sent by Miamisburg did not clarify what district was sending the message. We want to assure everyone that both Miamisburg and West Carrollton students are safe.

We have been made aware that Miamisburg schools are on lockdown. We don't know why, but some families from West Carrollton have been receiving a message intended for Miamisburg families that transportation will be delayed due to the lockdown. We want to assure West Carrollton School District families that this is NOT happening in West Carrollton. Our students are safe and will be arriving at bus stops at the regular time.

There are new Pirates on board! Human Resources Director, Devon Berry, and his Assistant, Lisa Green, are pictured in front of the group of new faces who will soon be in classes and/or providing services to students. Welcome!

You may recognize Mr. Thobe. He is the principal at Harry Russell Elementary. This coming school year, he will be doing double duty. He will also be the principal at Harold Schnell Elementary. He is doing this with the help of a new Assistant Principal, Natassia Person. We want to congratulate Ms. Yerman, the former principal at Harold Schnell, for her new role in the district as the Director of Student Services. #harryrussellelementary #haroldschnellelementary

Every bus is cleaned inside and out. Mechanics service each bus to make sure it is in safe working order. These are things that happen all year long, including the summer! If you're interested in joining the transportation team, call 937-859-5121, ext. 7.
