group of students holding a blanket

Second-grade students in Mrs. Fee’s class have been working on a special project whenever they have had indoor recess that is “Made with Kindness.”

Students brought in fabric from home. They then used their measuring skills and cut the fabric into 6” by 6” squares. Using the squares, they laid out a quilt design. With Mrs. Fee's help, the squares were sewn together to create a quilt that every student helped make.

The students also made a card with a quilt-square design and colored and decorated their own square on the card. Students signed the card and added more decorations to the inside.

The quilt and card will be delivered to an elementary school student who is currently in the hospital.

There are already plans to make a second quilt that will be “Made with Kindness” for another recipient.
