Senior Spotlight - Class of 2026

Meet Haylee. She has been a Pirate since first grade.

She has been involved in many activities, including Mutiny, Yearbook, Student Council, Caring Closet, Spring Musicals (since elementary school), and serving as President of the National Honor Society. Haylee also serves as the School Board Student Representative and said, “I feel better educated since being on the Board about the work the Board and Central Office do. I had no idea of all the work happening.” She was one of three West Carrollton Student Representatives who presented at the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Capital Conference, sharing their experiences as Student Representatives with school board members from across Ohio. Haylee said, “I put my heart into everything I do.”

Being part of the musicals has been one of her favorite school activities, and she recently received a Superior Rating for her Class A Solo performance at an OMEA Solo and Adjudicated event. Another recent achievement was being recognized by the Dayton LaSertoma Club with a Youth Service Award.

Her busy schedule also includes activities outside of school. She trains and competes with her own two horses in barrel racing and helps care for over 20 horses being boarded at her barn. You may have even seen Haylee riding one of her horses at the Homecoming Parade.

She has had her own photography business for three years, specializing in equine photography, portraits, barrel racing, and family and senior pictures. Haylee gives her mom credit for helping her manage her time. “Mom and I look at our schedules and figure out our week.”

She will graduate with a GPA over 4.0, thanks in part to the College Credit Plus courses she has taken in Composition and Environmental Science. She began taking Honors English and Enriched Math in Middle School. In High School, she continues Honors English and also takes Honors Geometry/Pre-Algebra, Honors Science, and Honors Choir/Chamber Choir. Her plan is to attend Sinclair College to study Business Management and Digital Marketing, so she can grow her photography business and work for other companies managing social media.

Her dreams for where she will be in 10 years include owning a big piece of property with horses, moving up in barrel racing, being married, and maybe having a kid. Congratulations, Haylee, on everything you have already achieved! No matter where you go, you will always be a Pirate!
