Meet Gabby Rose and Isabel Williams. Gabby became a Pirate in 7th grade, and that is when she met Isabel. They have been friends ever since!
Compared to her previous school district, Gabby says, “I LOVE West Carrollton. Everyone feels closer. We’re more of a community. Everyone is friends with each other.” Gabby has over 60 College Credit Plus credits and says, “West Carrollton has a great support system and made it easy for me to do.” She especially enjoyed taking an anthropology class at Sinclair Community College because she loves learning about history and cultures. Gabby is a member of the Student Council. In that role, she helps plan Spirit Weeks. “I love seeing our creative ideas come to life in the hallways.” She enjoyed being in last year's talent show, where she danced with 16 other kids. “I didn’t know most of them, but now we’re good friends.” She plans to participate in Swim and the National Honor Society later this year. She would like to participate in more activities but will have to wait until she can drive.
Isabel loves West Carrollton, too. “Everyone is fun. We have great teachers who will support you in whatever path you take. They make learning easy and fun.” Isabel participates in cross country and track and made it to regionals in cross country last year. She is in the Orchestra and Arpeggio and has performed at adjudicated events in the solo and ensemble categories, playing the violin. Isabel says, “All the teachers are supportive and fun.” That started for her when she had Mrs. Myers in kindergarten. “She always had fun stuff to do.” Other teachers she recognizes are Mrs. Sanders for being amazing; Mrs. Parks for making biology fun; and Mr. McNeil and Mrs. Stringer for making classes interactive. When asked what her favorite experience has been in school, she said, “Every day is amazing!”
