Transitioning to life after High School can be difficult, especially for students with disabilities. High School teacher Ms. Mehlman is helping by presenting Transition Tuesdays, a monthly series of presentations for 7th through 12th grade students (students with 504 plans or IEPs) and their families.

Experts will present topics including how to attend college with the accommodations made in High School, how to write a resume, money management, and available services. Each presentation will be followed by a Q&A.

All sessions will be held in the High School/Middle School library beginning at 6 p.m., with childcare and heavy refreshments available at each session. Each session will be made available via Zoom and recorded for later viewing.

The Transition Tuesdays series was made possible through a grant from the West Carrollton Education Foundation and Day Air Credit Union. The dates and topics scheduled are:

  • September 29 –

Overview of Transition out of High School Processes, Responsibilities, and Changes in Rights.

  • October 27 – Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities

  • November 17 – Secondary Education Disability Services and Accommodations
