Dr. Robyn Jordan will join the West Carrollton SchoolDr. Robyn Jordan District as Curriculum Director, effective August 1, 2025, following approval by the Board of Education at the July 16 meeting. She will replace the current Curriculum Director, Julie Jones, whose last day will be July 31, 2025.

Jordan took a circuitous route before finding her passion for curriculum. She used her full scholarship to Arkansas State University and earned a degree in biology. She planned to continue her education to become a neurosurgeon, but decided in her senior year that she no longer wanted to focus on pre-med studies.

During graduate school, she developed an interest in herpetology and conducted research on salamanders. She was also able to teach college-level classes, and that is when she knew she wanted to be a teacher.

She spent many years in school, earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Biology from Arkansas State University, followed by a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Wright State, and eventually a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a focus on Leadership, Curriculum, and Culture from Miami University. Jordan stated, "There were times I wondered if I’d ever be done with school, but the truth is, I’ve always had a deep love for learning! I continue to learn every day. That is the beauty of this profession.”

Jordan has 23 years of experience in education, most recently in Mason City Schools. She served as Curriculum Director and Associate Principal at the High School for four years before transitioning to the Learner and Family Engagement Administrator for the last two years. Whatever her role has been, she has always found curriculum to be her passion. She stated, "I'm excited to bring my skills and experience to add to the amazing things happening in West Carrollton."

Superintendent, Dr. Andrea Townsend, could not agree more. "Dr. Jordan's passion for curriculum will benefit all of our students and staff. We are eager for her to begin."
