Do you want to help our youngest students become better readers?
Reading Allies is at the Early Childhood Center, and is looking for volunteers willing to commit to one or two days a week beginning the week of Sept. 30 and ending Dec. 12 (no days are scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving). Volunteers can choose Tuesday and/or Thursday. The time commitment is 9:30 to 10 a.m. and/or 10:15 to 10:45.
Reading Allies was developed out of a simple question: What happens when communities intentionally work together to help their students read on grade level? What we found is that kids are reading on grade level by the end of the year, and that sets them up for continued success in school.
