West Carrollton City Schools – Planning for the Future

On July 16, 2025, the West Carrollton Board of Education agreed to hire the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) to assist in a formal strategic planning process to develop a long-term roadmap for student success and decision-making guidelines.

The process will include community and workforce outreach, culminating in critical staff, student, parent, and community input. The resulting solid, realistic, and workable plan will be presented to the Board of Education after the first of the year, 2026, for final approval and administrative implementation.

Strategic planning is a tool that allows organizations to take those things within the district that are currently functioning well, and build upon them for a more successful future. This is accomplished by combining the best and most functional components of what is known in the private sector as strategic planning and combining it with the process known in education and other sectors as continuous improvement planning.

Dr. Andrea Townsend, School Superintendent, said, “We look forward to working with the community, our families, and our staff as we develop a plan for the direction of the school district and the success of our students.”

Community members, parents/guardians, and staff are invited to complete a survey by connecting to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WCarrollton as the school district begins to gather information to start the strategic planning process.

NOTE: Survey will close Fri., Oct. 3.
