Candace Kraus was recognized with the Staff Spotlight Award. She was nominated by Principal Heather Davis. The nomination was read by students and presented to Ms. Kraus in a surprise video. The following is the nomination:
Candace Kraus truly keeps our ship afloat at WCIS. She is the first smiling face that staff, students, and families see when they walk through our doors, and she sets the tone for the entire building. Candace always seems to have the answer to everyone’s questions and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure our school runs smoothly.
Over the past several years, Candace has taken on responsibilities that are critical to the daily operations of our building. She works diligently year after year to make sure there is daily staff coverage. She collaborates with both school and district personnel to ensure that issues are resolved quickly and efficiently. Candace is extremely organized and detail-oriented, qualities that we have all come to depend on in our various roles.
Candace’s reliability, helpfulness, and strong work ethic make her an invaluable part of the WCIS team. She handles countless responsibilities—many of which happen behind the scenes—and does so with professionalism and a positive attitude. Her role at the front of the building keeps everything moving forward, and the list of things she does to support staff and students is likely far longer than anyone could fully capture.
Those who have worked with Candace since the building first opened have seen her grow tremendously in her role. From her early days learning the ropes to now being a steady and confident leader in the front office, Candace has become an essential part of what makes WCIS successful.
In addition to her dedication at school, Candace is also a proud West Carrollton parent of six who manages a busy household while continuing to show her West Carrollton pride in all that she does. Her ability to balance both worlds speaks volumes about her character and commitment.
Candace Kraus is a true gem in our school community, and WCIS is incredibly fortunate to have her helping keep our ship sailing every day.
