Annual sales tax holiday provides savings opportunity

The 2026 Ohio Sales Tax Holiday will take place from midnight on Friday, Aug. 7 to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, an opportunity to purchase school supplies and other items without paying state sales tax.

During this year’s three-day sales tax holiday, the following items qualify for the tax exemption:

  • Clothing priced at $75 or less per item

  • School supplies priced at $20 or less per item

  • School instructional materials priced at $20 or less per item
