Due to weather conditions, all West Carrollton Schools will be closed today, December 2.
Fall Break is November 24 through November 28. There is NO SCHOOL for students. Students will return on Monday, December 1.

We are paws-itively excited about having a new girl in school! Tabitha (Tabby) just graduated from Therapy Dog school. Tabby's role model is her big sister, Sammy the Therapy Dog. Sammy has been working in the schools for many years with her person, Erin Newsome. Sammy will continue with her therapy duties, and whenever she takes a day off, Tabby will take over. Sammy has left big paw prints to fill, but Tabby is ready for the challenge!

Have you ever heard of glossophobia? It is the fear of public speaking, but it didn't affect any Middle School students who presented at the School Board Meeting last night. Members of the National Honor Society and Student Council addressed the School Board about the activities they are promoting at the Middle School. Students also talked about the News Crew and showed a short clip of a production they had created.
Today is World Kindness Day. If we start kindness at home, kids can take it to school and share it with their teachers, support staff, and classmates. Teachers, support staff, and classmates can take it home and share it with their families. It can keep spreading from there! Let's make the school district a kind place to be!

Middle School students had special guests today. Veterans representing the Army and the Marines shared their military experiences during a presentation and a Q&A session. Thank you to our guests for keeping our students engaged and able to learn more about Veterans Day!
Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all our active-duty military members and all those who have served. These two boys dressed as their heroes, and you are our heroes, too!
What is orange and squishy? Some of the Middle School students found out that it's the inside of a pumpkin!

Middle School students have been traveling throughout 21 Hispanic countries without ever leaving the school! Students used a passport in their advisory classes to "visit" one Spanish-speaking country each day and write down what they learned. Students who completed their passports were entered into a raffle for a Hispanic Heritage Month Lunch! One student from each advisory class was selected to learn about the cuisine in different Hispanic countries. Students got to try things like “gallo pinto” (a rice and bean dish) from Costa Rica, “empanadas” (savory pastries stuffed with different meats and/or veggies) from Argentina, “enchiladas” (stuffed and rolled tortillas covered in sauce) from Mexico, and various candies and drinks from several Hispanic countries. The lunch was a huge success with students being brave to try new things and surprised to find that they actually liked the things they weren’t so sure about! Additionally, every student across the building created a quilt square during their advisory class with a drawing that represented one of the 21 Hispanic countries. Classes voted on their “top 5” in each advisory, and those squares were put together as a "quilt" to unify our student body in all that we’ve learned this past month.

What happens during a QPT Day? Collaboration and learning! We found some of our High School staff working together, and some of our student support staff watching a presentation about CPR. Those are just two of the things happening today! #wcpiratepride
Meet Sadie. She is our first Student Spotlight of the 2025-26 school year, but she won’t be our last! Sadie has always attended West Carrollton Schools, and she is now a Middle School student. Her favorite subject is math. She said, “It’s fun to learn. You get to learn different things.” While at the Intermediate School, Sadie participated in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Club as well as the Drone Club. Those activities have sparked her interest in engineering, and that is what she would like to focus on when she attends college. She said, “I want to build bridges.” In the meantime, she is enjoying her time at the Middle School. She is currently participating in volleyball and is looking forward to trying out for softball. She also enjoys gym class and lunchtime at school, when she gets to spend time with her friends. Outside of school, she enjoys making bracelets and riding her bike. We asked Sadie what makes West Carrollton special. She said, “Everybody is close. I know everybody in my grade.” #westcarrolltonmiddleschool #wcpiratepride #wcclassof2031

What do you do on a beautiful day when you want to do a science experiment? Take it outside! Safety first. Put on your goggles. Although we didn't see the conclusion of the experiment, we did see a soda bottle, so we're guessing there was some fizz! #westcarrolltonmiddleschool
