Sometimes I'm driving down I-75 and I get a glimpse of the construction going on at the High School, then I remember --- Eyes Up, Phones Down, Go Slow (but not too slow because I'm on the highway). This time I was in the passenger seat and able to get some pictures to share!

Tonight's game was amazing having our Pee-wee teams and their parents. I'd like to thank everyone who came out to support our kiddos!

It's QPT Day! Students may not be in school, but the staff is here! They are collaborating and sharing ideas to become better educators and support staff.
Then and now. Some of our kindergarten staff showed off their own kindergarten pictures!
There is NO SCHOOL Friday, September 13 for QPT Day. Enjoy a safe, respectful and responsible weekend!

Caffeine and kindness -- the Pirate Bay Cafe is open for business! Job Coach, Dionne Jilani, works with students in the student-run coffee shop. Located at the High School, students learn job skills from making coffee to running the cash register. Students are also mastering customer service skills as they say "thank you" to their customers!

High School secretaries work as a team. After all, it's a work of heart!

There is no school on Monday, September 2 for Labor Day. Enjoy a safe, respectful and responsible weekend!

Not everything you read on social media is true, but we heard a rumor that we confirmed. We even got pictures! The West Carrollton Fire Department came out to the Middle School football team practice to provide some cooling relief. It also gave the athletes an opportunity to learn how to play in the rain. The best part is it was fun for everyone!

Nastassia Person is excited to be a Pirate! She is the new Assistant Principal at the Intermediate School. She is enjoying meeting the students, staff and families. This is her 10th year working in education and we are happy she is bringing her experience to the Pirates!
A big THANK YOU to our friends at DMAX! They dropped by the Intermediate School this morning to drop off a donation of school supplies including notebooks, pens, pencils and backpacks. There were even items for teachers including dry erase markers, tissues and clorox wipes for the classroom. Intermediate School and district staff were on hand to thank the DMAX representatives for enriching the lives of our students and staff!
It's a virtual day as 6th grade STEM students try out some virtual reality equipment! It's another fun way for students to learn!

We now know that the Miamisburg Schools emergency alert call system reaches out to student emergency contacts, some of whom are from West Carrollton. The message that was sent by Miamisburg did not clarify what district was sending the message. We want to assure everyone that both Miamisburg and West Carrollton students are safe.
We have been made aware that Miamisburg schools are on lockdown. We don't know why, but some families from West Carrollton have been receiving a message intended for Miamisburg families that transportation will be delayed due to the lockdown. We want to assure West Carrollton School District families that this is NOT happening in West Carrollton. Our students are safe and will be arriving at bus stops at the regular time.
It's day one of Kindergarten Screening! We love meeting our new Pirates and families!
There are new Pirates on board! Human Resources Director, Devon Berry, and his Assistant, Lisa Green, are pictured in front of the group of new faces who will soon be in classes and/or providing services to students. Welcome!

What happens when you put kids and water together? Fun! That's exactly what happened today when the West Carrollton Fire Department came out to provide the water. The Marching Band and Pirettes provided the kids. Fun was had by all! #westcarrolltonhighschool
You may recognize Mr. Thobe. He is the principal at Harry Russell Elementary. This coming school year, he will be doing double duty. He will also be the principal at Harold Schnell Elementary. He is doing this with the help of a new Assistant Principal, LaShell Dauterman. We want to congratulate Ms. Yerman, the former principal at Harold Schnell, for her new role in the district as the Director of Student Services. #harryrussellelementary #haroldschnellelementary
