WC Education Foundation Awards Grants, Recognizes Excellence in Education and Distinguished Service
These West Carrollton School District staff members received grant dollars that will go directly back into classrooms to support learning:  Michelle Coale - $2000 for the "Underground Railroad Experience;" Laura Bukosky - $982.72 for the "WC Band Method Book Proposal;" Lori Ferguson, Paul Henderson, and Judi Brooks - $748.23 for the "Greenhouse Renovation and Courtyard Beautification;" Beth Warner - $563.48 for "Books2Go;" Amanda Davidson and Lesley Mosher - $1,676.62 for "The Power of Words with Novels in Verse;" Kristina Hopf - $800 for "Breaking the Cycle;" and Craig Myers - $1,700 for "FAFSA - "Ready Set Go Campaign."

The Foundation also celebrated Excellence in Education Award winners for 2015, Donna Campbell (middle school counselor), Ellen Dahlin (middle school mathematics), Steve Flickinger (high school social studies), and Anne Schaller (district librarian) and Distinguished Service Hall of Fame Recipients, Angie Shockley and Connie Henry, who was recognized posthumously.
 
THIS WEEK - WCHS Vocal Musicians Present "Little Women"
The West Carrollton High School Vocal Music Students bring you, LITTLE WOMEN THE BROADWAY MUSICAL; it's about the saga of the March sisters - Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy - as they grow up in Civil War America. Come enjoy this very special production, presented on April 24th, 25th, and 26th at WC High School in the Dickinson T. Every month our teachers choose a student 'Asset Builder' for each school building.
These are the top seven Asset Builders for March; they demonstrate an understanding of the '42' Developmental Assets and exemplify multiple assets.  What are "assets?" Pirate Signing Day
All students in the WC City School District will experience College and Career Pirate Signing Day on Thursday, April 30, 2015.  WCHS seniors will be signing letters of intent to let everyone know what college or university they will be attending, what military experience they will be working toward, or the career credential they will be pursuing. Every WC senior will have a plan.  Pirate Signing Day will be celebrated by all WC students -- in kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school. 
NEW WC School Board Meeting START TIME
School Board meetings will start at 6:00 pm beginning on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Meetings are held in the Community Room at WC High School.
