Welcome to Kindergarten 2015 
1st Annual Connie Parsons Alumni Soccer Game
On Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 6 pm at DOC Stadium all WC alumni soccer players are invited to participate in a special competition.  The proceeds from concessions, to the gate, and shirt purchases will go toward the Connie Parsons Scholarship Fund.  For more information and to register please see these FORMS.  Questions may be directed to WCMS science teacher and asst. boys soccer coach, Luke McNeil at (937) 859-5121, ext. 7794 or lmcneil@wcsd.k12.oh.us.  The deadline to register is September 10th. 
Online Free and Reduced Lunch Application
West Carrollton City Schools has an online free and reduced lunch application process.  Please click HERE to apply.  For application instructions, click HOW TO APPLY. If you have questions, please contact our Student Nutrition Services Department at (937) 859-5121, ext. 1121 (Tina Pett) or ext. 1131 (Kim Harvey).

Application Access From a WC School Building  

Forms will not be mailed home this year.  WC City Schools offer free breakfast to all of our students and a lunch menu that includes whole grains, lower sodium foods, and salads every school day.  Our Student Nutrition Department is 100% self supporting.
 
New Principal, Dorian Glover
Frank Nicholas Principal, Dorian Glover, is an enthusiast about serving students.  He said he's an advocate ... passionate about educating the "whole child."  Here's what else he shared.

What do you look forward to in your new role?
I look forward to leading and serving the staff, students and families of Frank Nicholas. And, becoming part of the West Carrollton/Moraine community. I will be working to give every student of Frank Nicholas an opportunity to be successful.

Why did you decide to come to West Carrollton?
I chose West Carrollton because of the district’s continuous growth and the focus on providing an educational experience that involves educating the “whole child.” This is evident to me through our mission and 42’ Developmental Assets.

What do you hope to offer your students?
I hope to serve as an advocate and role model for the students of Frank Nicholas. Students will know that I will push them to be their best and support them 100% when it comes to their well being an academic success.

What 3 words best describe you as an educator?
I’m an advocate.  I’m also committed and reflective.

What will be your focus for the 2015-2016 school year?
My focus will be to continue to develop and refine the instructional practices that best serve the needs of the students of Frank Nicholas. I will also focus on creating a positive climate and strong sense of community. I envision Frank Nicholas to be a school full of compassionate hearts and critical minds.

Tell us about your work in education.
I have been in education for 13 years; 10 years teaching and three years as an administrator. I was a special education teacher for students in grades 6,7, and 8. I also taught language arts, social studies, and math.

What have you learned (already) about our Pirate school community?
I know West Carrollton is made up of hard working families that believe in the value of education. I know the West Carrollton school district is dedicated to providing the best possible education through its Core Values of: Improvement, Learning, Leadership, Value, and Results. And, I’m excited to contribute to this.

Why were you drawn to West Carrollton?
The West Carrollton School District has a clear vision.  Our staff and students work hard to meet individual needs.  We focus on the positive and personal qualities that young people need to grow up healthy, caring, and responsible.

What will you offer your students?
I bring my experience, collaboration and communication skills -- as well as my leadership skills, to contribute to the overall success of our school and our school district.

Describe yourself as an educator.
I’m caring and committed. I have been in education for 23 years. I have served as a teacher, intervention specialist, counselor, and assistant principal. I have worked with each grade level, Kindergarten through sixth.

What do you know about your students already?
My students are hard workers that set high expectations for themselves. West Carrollton is fortunate to have caring parents who support their children. Parent support makes all the difference.
