September is Attendance Awareness Month
This is a nationwide event that recognizes the connection between school attendance and academic achievement.  It can be linked to these Assets:  #21 (Achievement Motivation), #22 (School Engagement), #23 (Homework), and #24 (Bonding to School), and others. Having good school attendance is vital throughout the school year.  Please remind your student about why his/her attendance is important to set the stage for healthy habits that will extend beyond the school years.
